"a man leaves his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they become one flesh" Genesis 2:24
The film The Princess Bride has a scene of a wedding, in which the cleric who runs it, says: "Marriage [...] is what binds us together today."
Although the use of that phrase was meant to be humorous, he said a great truth. Marriage is, indeed, a great unifier. It is a solemn and respectable institution created by God himself, and joins a man and a woman in an amazing unit.
Sometimes it's good to recall the great plan for marriage to develop the Scriptures.
Marriage creates a new family from two Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh [...]. Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and be united to his wife "(Genesis 2:23-24 ).
provides a pure way of channeling a desire designed by God: "But because of fornication, let every man have his own wife and each woman her own husband" (1 Corinthians 7:2 ).
It is a mutually helpful team: "The heart of her husband trusts in her [...]. She does him good and not evil all the days of his life "(Proverbs 31:11-12 ).
marriage the way God joins a man and a woman to honor Him and help society. Celebrating the marriage by the way that unites us in God's name.
Reflection: God created the husband and wife complement each other.
