"We [...] do not cease to pray for you," Colossians 1:9
An article from The Washington Post told of a young girl of 15 who sent and received 6,473 text messages via mobile phones in a single month. She said that if he could not communicate constantly with his friends, he would die. And is not unique. Researchers say that young Americans send and receive an average of more than 2,200 text messages per month.
seems to me that this constant digital communication dramatically illustrates what prayer can and should be for every follower of Christ. Apparently, Paul was constantly in prayer for others: "We [...] does not cease to pray for you" (Colossians 1:9 ). "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:18 ). "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17 ). But how is this possible?
The missionary Frank Laubach described his habit of "shooting" prayers for the people who crossed during the course of the day. In a way, was "texting" to God for these people to stay in constant communication with the Father. Laubach believed that prayer is the most powerful force in the world, and said: "My role right now is to live constantly conversing with God in my heart and be fully prepared to fulfill His will."
Pray without ceasing. Perhaps what Paul urged us to do can be done.
Reflection: The sentence should become as natural as breathing.
