"And save me your right hand" Psalm 138:7
Edwin van der Sar, goalkeeper for Manchester United football team, had a pair of hands "safe." For a while, had the world record less defeated arch: 1,302 minutes without being metieran a goal! This means that for almost 15 games of 90 minutes each, while he took care of the goalposts and the crossbar, no one could score even one goal against this team. But in March 2009, the record was ended when an opposing team scored a goal.
The psalmist David found solace in the safe pair of hands that exists: God's. In Psalm 138 , speaking of the Lord's protection, he wrote: "... stretch out your hand and your right hand shall save me" (v. 7 ). As David, we can also go to the safe hands of God to protect us from danger and spiritual defeat.
Another safety that the Word of God provides for the followers of Christ is in Jude 1:24-25 "Now to Him who is able to keep from falling and to present you faultless before of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and for ever. Amen. This does not mean you will never stumble, but we never will so that the Lord can lift us.
The pair of safe hands of God never fails ... never!
Reflection: There is nothing safer than being in the hands of God.
