DA WHAT HAPPINESS? Flowing stream

Reading: Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 .

"All was vanity and vexation of spirit, and no profit under the sun" Ecclesiastes 2:11

After studying the effect of economic boom in Japan after the Second World War, Richard Easterlin concluded that the financial growth does not always produce the greatest satisfaction. On the other hand, Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers surveyed more than 100 countries and found that life satisfaction is higher in richer nations.

So who is right? Let's see what the writer says Ecclesiastes . He should know! It was a really rich man ( 2:8) and had the means to test everything in this world ... And certainly did! Was devoted to the pleasures ( vv. 1-3 ), large projects ( vv. 4-8 ), the entertainment (v. 8 ) and the hard work ( vv. 10-11). However, concluded that all was "vanity and vexation of spirit, and no profit under the sun" (v. 11 ).

lasting satisfaction comes from having no tangible things like a savings account or property. Recent events have shown that these things can suddenly lose their value. To find True happiness, we must look for in someone that is not "under the Sun." And that is Jesus, our Savior.

The Floyd Hawkins hymn writer put it: "I discovered the path to happiness. I found the path to joy. I found relief for sadness [...] when I met Jesus my Lord. " Only He can give full joy (John 15:11 ). __ CPH

"let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream" Amos 5:24

When I was a teenager, I went with my dad, my uncles and cousins to fish trout in the headwaters of the Sacramento River in California. This river is the result of melting snow, so the water was rushing, clear, cold and refreshing. My cousins and I could not resist getting into the icy stream while we were fishing rainbow trout.

Upon returning home, we stopped to take a dip in a pond quite different. The water was warm and smelled like stagnant. Contrasted greatly with the other stream as fast and exciting.

The prophet Amos uses the metaphor of a stream of water to illustrate the transforming power of justice. Dismayed by the religious rituals and lifeless in Israel, and exploitation that made the poor (Amos 2:6-8 ; 5:21-27), claimed to be trial and impose justice. He noted that the people of God was stuck in the stagnant pool of injustice to others, when they needed was a life marked by "justice as a mighty stream."

Likewise, God wants us to let the trial outbreak of our lives and "run [...] as the waters." One way is to fight for just laws and there advocating for the kind care of the poor. Seek to be part of the mighty stream of justice of God until Christ vuelva.__ HDF

Reflection: Justice appears when the truth is put into action.

"He [God] heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" Psalm 147:3

Leslie and their two daughters were about to be evicted from your home. Although she believed that God could help them, until then, the Lord had given no indication of how he would. Leslie wondered: Where is God? While heading to the courts, he asked the Lord to intervene. Then he heard a song on the radio, saying: "God is here! Rejoice the brokenhearted. " Would this confirmation from Him that she longed to hear?

Inside the courtroom, Leslie appeared before the judge heard the verdict and signed legal documents, but God still had not responded.

As he walked toward his car, a truck pulled up beside her. "Lady "The driver said," I heard his testimony in court, and I believe God wants to help her. " And he did. Gary helped Leslie to contact a woman in a local church that could intervene between the parties to cancel the case and allow her and her daughters return to their home.

When people ask "Where is God?", The answer is right here. " One of the ways the Lord works is through Gary believers as they continue the task that started Jesus, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3 ). __ JAL

Reflection: When we love God, serve people.

What is Wind Power?

Large areas dedicated to the production of wind energy.

The Wind Energy is the energy from wind , ie the kinetic energy generated by the effect of large air flows are in the environment. And that is processed into different forms of useful energy for human activities.

The term wind comes from the Latin word aeolicus belonging or relating to Aeolus , which was considered the god of the winds in Greek mythology.

This energy has been used since ancient times to move boats, which were powered by sail attached to large poles, also to run the machinery of the mills, moving its arms and get the flour.

Wind power is, at present, clean energy and also the least expensive to produce, which explains the strong enthusiasm for this technology.

Today, wind energy is mainly used for producing electricity through wind turbines. A wind turbine

is an electrical generator driven by a turbine powered by wind (Wind turbine).

Here is a video that will help you understand the concept of "Wind Energy"
